My portrait of Joseph was done using a photograph of his "death mask" and the two photographs that have claims to be of the real Joseph Smith, Jr., as models. I took the bone structure from the mask, and combined it with the facial features that it and the two photographs had in common. His hair and eye color are from historical accounts of his coloring and are similar to my portrait of Christ. Also, the strong nose and expression in the eyes are similar. I think Jesus and Joseph could look like brothers. - Teresa Young, Artist
